American Made - Unplugged

CHAD SANDERS

ABOUT THIS SONG

“American Made” is one of those songs that comes from how I was raised and the kind of people I’ve been around my whole life. It’s about getting up early, going to work, doing what you said you were going to do, and taking pride in leaving something behind that was built right.

A lot of this song comes from watching my dad and other working men who never needed a pat on the back for doing their job. You showed up, worked hard, kept your word, and did it again the next day.

To me, being American Made isn’t about being perfect or making some big statement. It’s about working hands, tired backs, earned pride, and knowing at the end of the day you gave everything you had.

That’s what this song means to me.

LYRICS

Early morning, work boots beside the door
Daddy's truck was out by four

You don't think twice, you just head on out
Do the hard things others talk about
It ain't glory
It's a steady hand
Knowin' what you built is gonna stand

Every day you show up there again
That's where a working man begins

No shortcut ever held the line
Learn it once and do it right

In the towns we built
On the roads we laid by hand
We punched the clock and hauled the load
Built it strong and made it stand
American Made, tired and satisfied
Sweat on our backs and hard-earned pride
When the sun comes up, we lead the way
American Made, U.S.A.
American Made

Now I'm on the line before the sun

Work ain't over till the job gets done
From the back roads to the city blocks
Factory floors and loading docks

Every move sharp, every cut runs true
Do what you said you were gonna do
When the pressure hits, you don't back down
Plant your boots and hold your ground

Daddy said, "Son, you'll understand
This country's built by working hands"
Stand behind the work you do
And let your word stand up for you

In the towns we built
On the roads we laid by hand
We punched the clock and hauled the load
Built it strong and made it stand
American Made, tired and satisfied
Sweat on our backs and hard-earned pride
When the sun comes up, we lead the way
American Made, yeah, I earned my name
American Made

In the towns we built
On the roads we laid by hand
We punched the clock and hauled the load
Built it strong and made it stand
American Made, tired and satisfied
Sweat on our backs and hard-earned pride
When the sun comes up, we lead the way
American Made, yeah, I earned my name
American Made

American, born and raised
American Made, U.S.A.
